DGA Chair Jay Inslee’s Economic Leadership Pays Off
Today, Business Insider ranked every state by economic strength. Under the leadership of DGA Chair Jay Inslee, Washington is the top state on the list. The rankings noted the state’s booming tech scene that “rivals California’s Silicon Valley” and an economic climate that allows companies like Microsoft and Amazon to thrive.
The numbers speak for themselves:
- December 2017 average weekly wage of $1,107.20 was the second highest in the country.
- Q3 2017 GDP growth rate of 4.3% was fourth highest.
- The state’s rate of job creation was the seventh highest.
“Governor Inslee’s strong leadership and commitment to economic opportunity is paying off in Washington,” said DGA Communications Director Jared Leopold. “Wages are up, jobs are growing, and Washington’s working families are seeing the benefits.
