DGA Statement on McCrory Signing of LGBT Discrimination Bill

The Democratic Governors Association released the following statement after Gov. Pat McCrory signed House Bill 2, allowing for discrimination against the LGBT community in North Carolina:

“Make no mistake, Pat McCrory’s discrimination bill will kill jobs in North Carolina,” said Jared Leopold, DGA Communications Director. “Indiana was the canary in the coal mine. Indiana’s discrimination law drove businesses away and cost the state $60 million in tourism revenue. Tonight, Pat McCrory ignored that warning and chose to sign a job-killing discrimination law. North Carolina voters will not forget the damage Pat McCrory caused to the state’s economy tonight.”
