Granholm Delivers Energy Petition
The signatures of 275,858 Michigan motorists angry about high gasoline prices went to President Bush after the drivers signed an online petition promoted by Gov. Jennifer Granholm. “The president can cap excess profits in addition to repealing the tax cuts big oil gets,” the governor said as she handed the disk of signatures to a UPS deliveryman. She added: “Paying nearly $3 per gallon while oil companies enjoy $10 billion in tax breaks and rake in billions more in profits is just plain wrong.”
