DGA Welcomes Jack Markell to its Membership
Washington D.C.—Democratic Governors Association (DGA) Chair Gov. Joe Manchin (W.Va.) congratulated Gov.-elect Jack Markell on winning his race for Governor of Delaware by a substantial margin.
“We are excited that Delaware will continue to have a Democratic Governor,” said Gov. Manchin. “Jack Markell will be a tireless advocate for Delaware and will provide the strong, steady leadership needed in these uncertain economic times.”
DGA Executive Director Nathan Daschle said, “We congratulate Jack Markell on a decisive victory. Throughout this race, Jack showed that ideas matter, and his indefatigable campaign was an inspiration. He has a clear vision of where he wants to take the state, and I am excited about Delaware’s future under his leadership.”
In January, Gov.-elect Markell will succeed term-limited Democratic Gov. Ruth Ann Minner. Gov. Manchin thanked Gov. Minner for her years of public service to Delaware.
