Culver Promises Pay Raise for Iowa Guard and Reserve Troops
Gov. Chet Culver has promised Iowa National Guard or reserve members deployed longer than 18 months, a direct payment for the rest of their deployment that makes up a significant portion of the difference between their civilian salary and their military salary. Gov. Culver has also helped to bridge the gap between troops and their loved ones by making videoconferencing available to troops and their families through the Freedom Calls Foundation. Read more…
